The goal is to provide functional and attractive facilities that meet the long-term needs of students, staff, families, and citizens in the most economical and cost-effective way. We focus on developing safe, practical, attractive, and functional learning environments for all students that, maximize learning while utilizing energy conservation, environmental sensibility, and financial responsibility.
Recent ActivityThe Facility Planning and Construction Department provides input and assistance to the School Board and the Superintendent of Schools to construct and renovate schools, as well as long-range facility planning and real estate transactions.
The department advises and acts on matters related to real estate holdings for future or current building sites; as well as creative planning for the location, design, development, and functional programming of future school facilities. This includes academic and athletic facilities, support service facilities, joint-use shared facilities with the city, and site-based facilities to be used by the school populations as well as the community at-large.
